When I first invested in a teleprompter for my YouTube channel, I thought it would be a game-changer. I watched over 20 reviews on YouTube before settling on the Desview T3, convinced it was the perfect choice to speed up my video production and improve my delivery. But almost immediately after unboxing it, I realized there were some important details no one had mentioned.

After using it for some time, I feel like I should share what I wish I knew before buying a teleprompter. Here are 8 reasons I regret buying mine, and I hope this helps you make a more informed decision.

1. Autofocus Struggles

I use a Canon M50, and I quickly discovered that adding the teleprompter and my phone onto the lens adapter ring caused my camera to struggle with autofocus. I had to switch to manual focus and adjust my aperture from 2.8 to 4.0 to get clear footage. If your teleprompter mounts directly onto your lens, you might face similar challenges.

2. Weight Damage Risk

Many reviewers praised the Desview T3 for being lightweight, but what they didn’t mention is the risk that even a “light” teleprompter, combined with the weight of your phone, could damage your camera lens. To avoid this, I recommend removing the teleprompter when you’re done…
