Sincere US Recruiter Reveals how to get Remote Jobs
Now I just learnt that the way those USA recruiters see things and the way we see things as applicants are worlds apart. Far-far apart!
So, I was chatting with a recruiter pen pal of mine. She gave me some straight-up truth about why most people don’t get hired, especially for remote jobs.
It wasn’t easy to hear, but it was exactly what I needed to know. She pleaded anonymity when I asked to share with my YouTube community.
She said:
Your Resume Isn’t Helping You
Sarah pointed out that most resumes don’t show the important stuff. People get too caught up in long sentences and fancy formatting, but recruiters don’t have time to dig through all that.
She said a great resume should highlight your best achievements in clear, simple terms, with some breathing room so it’s easy to scan by applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human recruiters.
It’s not about having a perfectly polished document or following outdated formats you downloaded online, but it’s about making sure the key points jump out quickly.
