Freelancers beware! Clients Trick
While there are many amazing clients on Upwork and across the freelance platform, scammers disguise themselves as freelance clients just to scam you of your service. They make you work your ass out but will not pay you when it’s pay time. Some even pay you, and then they do some form of chargeback scam before the freelance platform can let you withdraw your hard-earned money.
They are not only on Upwork. You find them everywhere. Their patterns and modus operandi are very similar. Yes, I am talking about scammers disguising themselves as clients to scam freelancers. I encountered one on the Golance freelancing platform, and here’s how I could spot this “client” as a red flag freelance client immediately by my experience as a top freelancer who’s been in this game for a while.
